Well, so far so good, version 0.53 is stable

Today, version 0.53 hits 200 downloads! I have not received any emails on this versions problems yet. If anyone finds problems with this version, I encourage you to email me so I can fix them. If you have any comments on my conveter, please let me know. As you know, I love simple "thank you!" emails :)

Here are some of my ideas for a next version. (1) Make the "converted" eml directories a configurable location instead of at the root of the incredimail databases. (2) Maybe converting directly into a mbox format for thunderbird users. (3) Open up the directory when the converting has been completed. Oh...a big one I think I will start working on unicode support.

  1. I just want to say, Thank you! I dropped a line about you on my blog "http://www.robplatt.com/index.php/2010/06/17/incredimail-export-works/"

You made my clients day after two years of hating Incredimail. So... Thank you!

  2. Thanks for making this app, I'm just reclaiming the email of a user who was duped into using it for some months.

It would be cool if the manual were posted as a separate download, I'm running the app now on a customer's PC but would like to read the manual on my (Linux) desktop machine.

  4. I've used incredimail for quite awhile and recently upgraded to incredimail 2 and can't stand it! I downloaded thunderbird and need to import my incredimail data, so I'm excited to find your software! However, I have a question. I downloaded your software, but I couldn't find where my incredimail data is stored. I have windows vista and as I said, I have incredimail 2. I know this is probalby a clueless question, but where is my incredimail data stored?

  6. Hi guys,

I have a problem with the latest 0.53 version.
As sylwia.b...@gmail.com write on this site:
    http://code.google.com/p/incredimail-converter-reynardware/issues/detail?id=13
    I have the same trouble.
The program works well with some directories, but with 1-2 directories it crashes every time.

If you need, I can send the .imm file to check the rootcause and solve the problem.
Please write me back as soon as possible for the file to this address: tricsesz@gmail.com

  7. Wonderful little program you've got here. I only ran into one issue where the software would crash on "folders.imm"-- renaming the file to "folders.imm.bak" solved the problem.

  8. Arlene - as per the Users Guide:

    "...when the converter
successfully finds the Incredimail database in the default location, it will create the converted directories in C:\Document and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\IM\{some
folder}\Message Box, where is the windows account login and {some folder} is a number
which Incredimail is installed. Hidden directories must be shown to get to the default Incredimail
    database location."

If that doesn't work just search your HD (including hidden files and folders) for "Message Box"
